New Moon in Cancer

Into one’s life a little rock and roll must fall…

New Moon blessings here at the crossroads of Gemini and Cancer!  Take your sweet time today and for the next few days.  Carve out a little time for intention setting as this may be the most powerful New Moon yet of 2014.

So far in this year, we have been plagued by deep studies of what it means to have our planets in retrograde even when we most need their support. And this simply translates into being grateful for the natural order of things.  Don’t knock diversity.  All aspects which live inside us are there for a reason.  As we attempt to manifest and to ride streams of consciousness through our lives, here we are reminded of the depth of our integratedness with all life and all life systems, including the macrocosm of our planetary community.

We have survived Venus in retrograde Dec –Jan at Winter Solstice; Mars retrograding through it’s home in Aries March – May; we are about to complete our second Mercury retrograde in home sign of communication Gemini as of July 1st, and Saturn will move direct soon after on July 20th just in time for the opening of the Lion’s Gate.  This transition is our annual opening of the Feminine floodgates as the powers of Isis, Sothis (Sirius) and Magdalen pour through.

As we restore our place of feminine power and return to use of feminine magic, it’s good to remember, or perhaps become aware for the first time, that chaos magic does exist.  We have employed its use for millennia as witches and warlocks.  We see its use at all time in the very public media foray.  While it can be useful to spin us out of our comfort zone and open us to the very feminine quality of non-linear time, it can also be used in a dark way to maintain a state of confusion and prolong debate well past it’s due (i.e. establishing available healthcare for all).  Perhaps the masculine has become very adept at using it after all in the forum of politics where the truth takes a back seat to the need for “democratic” or “healthy” debate.  So, while we examine the absence of Saturnian structure, yet experience his play to restrict us for our own good, let’s take a moment to get real about Cancer.

We may be in luck since the Moon does not travel in a retrograde pathway, that this month’s life lessons may be delivered in a straightforward vessel.  At least as straightforward as the sidewinding Crab will allow. All the chaos in the world, as fun and relentless as it might be to break up social structure and norms, never takes the place of the deep emotional connection needed for healthy human hearts and for relationship.

Are we making space for authentic kindness?

Are we able to drop in at this moment and take stock of where we have been and where we are now?
Can we exhale long enough to re-establish basic breath?

Cancer rules our emotions, and we may be deeply aware of what exactly it is our emotions are telling us about what needs to change in our lives.  Can we see what puzzle has arisen for us to solve and can we have the courage to say yes to completing that transformation now that we have a better sense of exactly what that work is?  Sometimes it’s easy to pray for help and elevation when we cannot see exactly what it is we need to work with.  Choosing to patiently take next steps is a whole other question for our soul.

Are we ripe for transmission?  Are we ripe to receive?
Are we able to empty out the chaos, say Thank You to our old programming for how it has served us in the past?
Are we willing to Bless it on its way?
Do we have the faith, do we have the trust in Spirit that we are held and that benevolent forces such as the Arch Angels themselves are waiting to act on our behalf?
On our cue?

So take a moment to embrace the All.  Make offerings of gratitude – your yoga practice, your sitting meditation or go ahead and make a renewed offering on your altar, or better yet, outside on the earth or to the water.  Recalibrate your connection to source.

With any luck, the outer planets remaining in retrograde orbits this year will not pack quite the same punch as the inner planets have had as they mirror many transits we already experienced in 2013.  Return to Gratitude.  Return to inward facing Peace.  Embrace this reboot and upgrade giving us greater vision in the higher dimensions, because here in New Earth Year 2, we are really only at the beginning of a long and glorious passage through inter-dimensional doorways.  And what we are creating in this infant stage will be remembered for generations to come.

In the immortal words of our Witchy Woman Elder and Pioneer, Stevie Nicks, “Sometimes it’s a bitch, sometimes it’s a breeze…”

“As psychologist John Welwood writes:

When we first open to our pain, it often feels as though we are bleeding. Yet this kind of emotional bleeding helps awaken the heart, allowing vital energies in us that have become coagulated to circulate again. To let our pain move in this healing way requires awareness, courage, and gentleness – being present with the pain instead of believing scare stories in our mind about where it might take us.[6]”
