New Moon in the Land of Devotion
It was 8:30 am and our taxi ride from the airport left us at the boat to Lembongen Island. The first thing I noticed were the carefully made banana leaf boxes holding flowers that lined our paths. I soon confirmed that these were indeed offerings to the Goddess.
I let out a deep breath and enjoyed a full body smile. I had arrived in Bali, land of devotion.
Every morning the women prepare their offerings and bless the homes, roads, passageways, cars, gates…sending prayers of protection, health and happiness for all who cross these paths.
I have discovered that the Balinese are kind, friendly and happy, always with a smile and a helping hand. I suspect this is rooted in their devotion. Their daily prayers encompass not only their families…but include all.
Being here has reminded me that my heart is my true guide. When my mind wants to spin and create drama, return to my heart. Return to my devotion. Pray to the Goddess. Ask Her for help, blessings, protection, and anything else that inspires me.
Awaken each day and cultivate my connection with Her. Give Her offerings. Sing to Her. Pray to Her.
Before bed each night give thanks. Sing some more. Connect.
And so on this beautiful New Moon in Pisces, I offer my prayers of love and blessings for all of us. May we know Her deeply within us, and see Her all around us. May we generously offer a helping hand, a smile, a kind word. May we live each day in service and devotion to that which truly heals our tender hearts.
Tomorrow we embark on our week-long women’s retreat here in Bali. May the Spirit of Devotion guide us all!
